Decades of Experience
McKanna Fabrications was first established in 1976 by Dave McKanna and moved to the Sweet St. Industrial Estate in 1981. The operation continued to expand until it had taken over the whole premises that it owns and occupies now.
We pride ourselves in the long-term relationships we have with the builders who have continued to use our services during the past 30 years. Dave McKanna retired in 2010. McKanna Fabrications is still owned and operated by the McKanna family: Jason and Kylie Barnes and Kelvyn and Brooke Caterson.
The McKanna, Barnes and Caterson team is supported in providing our expert customer service and production by our loyal team of estimators, shop drawers, boilermakers, fabricators, welders, installers and office support staff.
Keeping it in the Family
Jason Barnes works as general manager and director. Jason joined the company in 1990 as a tradesman and now runs the show. Kylie Barnes is Dave Mckanna’s daughter and Jason Barnes’ wife. Kylie is the office manager and manages accounts.
Kelvyn Caterson, who works as site supervisor and director, joined the company in 1998. Kel ensures that our major projects run smoothly and meet our clients’ specifications. Brooke Caterson is Dave McKanna’s daughter and Kel Caterson’s wife. Brooke provides reception support.
